Building calendar plans and programs of study in academic departments and work to develop in line with the mission and objectives of the college and university standards and quality assurance and accreditation . Development league for academic programs list and put new programs commensurate with the needs of the labor market and development plans . Activate and track the status of Academic Advising in the College. Activation of cooperative education . The development of the farm as an environment of educational application of the decisions process. Raise the level of extra-curricular student services and encourage them to participate . Establish a partnership with a community-based public and private sectors in order to improve the quality of the plans and programs of study , and support the teaching and learning processes and meet the needs of the labor market .

1. Identifying challenges that would prevent the production of high quality research pertaining to issues of strategic goals and objectives in the field of agriculture and to support academic and applied research in its various aspects.

2. Encouraging faculty members to identify undergraduate and postgraduate research opportunities in the various fields and subfields of agricultural sciences using natural resources in the Kingdom in order to solve local problems.

3. Encouraging staff members to contribute to the advancement of scientific research in the field of agriculture through the publication and/or translation of research articles in this field.

4. Exchanging expertise, creating appropriate climate for research and coordinating with different research organizations.

5. Inviting research papers for publication in the Center’s refereed journal.

6. Monitoring and reviewing research grants funded by the Agricultural Research Center. 

The Agricultural Research Center (ARC) at the College of Agriculture has always been active; addressing existing and emerging problems so as to fulfill the needs of our agricultural developments. The primary purpose of ARC, since its establishment in 1398H, has been to raise academic standards and advance commercial growth of the agricultural sector in Saudi Arabia. Apart from promoting valuable research projects and publishing specialized research journals, it also encourages College Staff members to publish their research in recognized journals and periodicals. The Center also provides them with the financial support they need to achieve that goal.

         The Agricultural Research Center sponsors, promotes and finances the initiation and development of research projects related to agricultural growth and development in Saudi Arabia. The center also works as a link joining the College, the private sector and governmental bodies to promote joint research ventures so as to resolve obstacles preventing the promotion of agricultural sector in Saudi Arabia.

During the past years ARC has supported & sponsored many projects and has provided possible assistance to achieve a successful completion of such projects while maintaining a regular comprehensive and continuous follow up of their progress.  Most of these projects related to achieving strategic and challenging national goals so as to create an awareness of the problems and challenges that have emerged as a result of the huge agricultural development Saudi Arabia has witnessed during the recent years

The Center is committed to helping and supporting research activities in the College in relation to various aspects of agricultural sciences.

  Academic Affairs is the backbone of the instruction process , and dealing with the agency for Academic Affairs to oversee the affairs of the students in the registry and the definition of student rights , and falls below the new organizational structure , which was approved by the Rector in his 12/1/1430 as follows:

Unit of Academic Affairs , Unit Cooperative Education and Alumni Affairs , unit rights and student activities , and educational farm .

 So it is the agency responsible for creating an environment of educational academic appropriate in college , starting from the stage of registration and until the student's graduation from college , through the preparation of schedules of study and create the halls smart and distribution of the people of courses to classrooms and prepare schedules final exams , where they are in each chapter receiving students from the preparatory year and their involvement in the disciplines of the college, and continue journey of academic affairs with the student , moment by moment to remove the obstacles faced by the student during the study in coordination with the heads of departments , counselors , academics and members of the faculty until graduation, where it is through the unity of Cooperative Education and Alumni Affairs to develop a database to track graduates in the labor market .

The College is currently in communion with employers to activate the Cooperative Education in sections , with the signing of several memoranda of understanding in this regard.

   The belief of the college to keep pace with the rapid development in all areas of agricultural science and applied them theory and in line with the aspirations of the university have taken it upon themselves to develop the college tuition plans in line with the multiplicity and diversity of agricultural sciences and to serve the requirements of agricultural development in the Kingdom. Has gone through programs of undergraduate seven stages of developmental head of distinct during the course of the college , which exceeded the 49 years are as follows: the first phase constituent since the establishment of the college in 1385 and until 1395 it was limited study college on only one specialty which is of Agricultural Sciences (Division of General ) , while the second phase which is phase concentration, which lasted from 1396 to the year 1400 , where it was the development of the study plan to include five concentrations , the third stage is the stage of specialization, which lasted from 1400 to 1410 and in this period has introduced a specialty nutrition and home economics for students. for the fourth stage they stage developmental intensive from 1410 to 1426 . The fifth stage and features - changing the name of the college to the College of Food and Agricultural Sciences , and the replacement of the old disciplines where new disciplines began to implement this plan, the first semester of 1427/1428 AH .

Aalmrahlh sixth major landmarks and the application of the preparatory year (31 hours) and began to be applied in the first semester of 1429/1430 AH . The seventh stage of development , which was approved by the Council of the decision Aagamah number and the date 11/08/33 08/11/1433 AH which introduced the cooperative education ( 12 hours) to study plans for the various academic departments .

The college offers six academic programs for undergraduates .

I got all the academic programs at the college academic accreditation of the global body of Canadian agricultural (AIC.2009 -2010 ) also got college in the ISO Quality Management System
(ISO 9001: 2008) and is currently being Fulfilling the requirements of the National Academic Accreditation (NCAAA) for all programs.

Welcome to the website of  Soil Science Department (SOSC) at king Saud University. The SOSC Department has a faculty  members consisting of  11 outstanding scientists, distinguished by their deeply understanding of soil, water and the environment science, and their ability to carry out research. Also planning towards the solution of environmental and resource use and management problems.

The SOSC provides highly visible leadership in teaching, research, outreach in the broad area of soil and environment  as related to improving the productivity of agriculture, improving water quality, and protection and conservation of natural resources.  

The SOSC Department offers two graduate programs leading to the Master and Doctor of  Philosophy degrees in Soil Sciences . Graduate Program in the Department of Soil Science  is open to students who has a B.Sc .degree in  Soil Science as well as to other discipline such as chemical, physical, earth, or engineering sciences.

The SOSC programs are designed to meet the changing needs of our clientele at Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, national and international levels. To meet new challenges and explore new opportunities, the SOSC’s research and teaching programs are focused in the following  areas:

- Soil-Water-Plant relations, and water and Soil  Conservation.
- Remediation of Contaminated Soils and  Water.
- Management of Nutrients, Fertilizers, and Wastes.
- Soil Quality and Morphology, and microbiological  activities.
- Environmental science, with emphasis on contaminant transport and fate,  and soil  remediation.
- Salt Affected Soils and its  Reclamations.
