As a part of the economics of agriculture in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the agricultural economy plays an important role in defining the economics of agriculture, particularly when it comes to studying the economic variables in the agriculture sector.

As part of its mission to focus on excellence in education as well as academic research, the department consists of faculty and staff dedicated to excellence. Among the specializations available within the department are agricultural economics, agricultural planning, food and water security studies, as well as international business. Students enrolled in the agricultural economics program (Bachelor and Master) will receive a comprehensive, practical, and integrated education related to agriculture and food development in order to be qualified and prepared for the workforce.
