Graduates Unit

Overview:
The Alumni Unit at the College of Food and Agricultural Sciences was established as one of the units affiliated with the College Vice Deanship for Development and Quality. It is tasked with overseeing students who are approaching graduation as well as alumni, with the aim of developing their academic, professional, and practical skills; ensuring a high level of quality in their competitiveness in the labor market; building a genuine partnership between the college and its graduates; and maintaining open channels of communication, while benefiting from alumni through their professional networks and capabilities as honorable and inspiring role models for those who follow.
Vision:
To achieve excellence and leadership in developing the skills and capacities of graduates of the College of Food and Agricultural Sciences in order to enhance their competitive, employment, and professional opportunities in the labor market.
Mission:
To prepare graduates to meet current challenges, develop their scientific and practical capabilities, and strengthen relationships, cooperation, and communication among alumni.
Importance of the Unit:
The importance of the unit lies in enhancing the competitive capabilities of students approaching graduation and alumni, guiding their career paths toward the right direction in line with the high level of competition in the labor market, strengthening their sense of belonging and loyalty to the College of Food and Agricultural Sciences and King Saud University, supporting graduates in the areas of employment, training, and professional and skills-based guidance, and opening channels of communication and cooperation with the public, private, and joint sectors to implement programs and initiatives related to training, qualification, and employment.
Unit Responsibilities
First: Establishing an Alumni Database
- Collecting data from approved sources and ensuring its accuracy and reliability.
- Periodically updating the data to ensure it remains current and accurate.
- Adhering to data security procedures and handling information in accordance with approved regulations.
Second: Career Guidance for Graduates
- Providing individual and group consultations on career planning to graduates.
- Assisting graduates in improving employment-related skills, such as resume writing and interview preparation.
- Guiding graduates toward suitable career paths based on their interests and skills.
Third: Graduate Training
- Developing integrated training plans and programs that meet the needs of graduates.
- Coordinating with various training entities to provide appropriate training opportunities.
- Evaluating the effectiveness of training programs and updating them in accordance with labor market requirements.
Fourth: Graduate Employment
- Providing professional consultations to graduates on job-search strategies.
- Developing a database of job-seeking graduates and employers interested in recruiting them.
- Organizing workshops and training courses to enhance graduates’ employability skills.
- Coordinating job fairs and events that bring together graduates and employers.
- Providing up-to-date information on available job opportunities and sharing them with graduates.
- Striving to build partnerships with companies and institutions to provide suitable employment opportunities for graduates.
