About the Unit
Introduction:
The Statistics, Information, and Learning Resources Unit (SILRU) at the College of Food and Agricultural Sciences, King Saud University, operates under the supervision of the Vice Deanship for Development and Quality. The unit plays a vital role in providing statistical and informational support, supervising and developing learning resources, maintaining and updating the college’s website, and developing mechanisms for data documentation and archiving. It also contributes to the preparation and monitoring of the college’s operational plan and performance indicators. Through these functions, the unit supports the college’s strategic objectives related to quality assurance, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement.
Mission:
Provide accurate and secure statistical and informational support that enhances the college’s educational, research, and administrative performance, in addition to ensure the effective development of learning resources, website maintenance, and systematic monitoring of performance indicators in alignment with the college’s strategic plan.

Main Tasks:
1. Supervising and developing learning resources in accordance with the requirements of educational and research activities.
2. Maintaining the college’s official website and supervising the sub-websites of academic departments, ensuring their continuous updating.
3. Preparing the college’s annual report and submitting it to the Vice Dean for Development and Quality.
4. Collecting and periodically updating statistical data related to students, academic programs, and research and administrative activities in coordination with the academic departments.
5. Contributing to the preparation of the college’s operational plan and monitoring the achievement of its performance indicators.
6. Developing mechanisms for documenting and archiving data and information to ensure their accessibility, security, and confidentiality.
7. Providing statistical and informational support to departments and committees within the college in the preparation of studies and reports.
8. Contributing to the measurement and analysis of the college’s key performance indicators and submitting periodic reports to the Vice Dean for Development and Quality.
