The Plant Protection Department comprises various administrative and research units, encompassing many administrative committees and research and teaching laboratories. These units fulfill the department’s goals in research, education, and community service through its three primary domains: Entomology, Plant Pathology, and Pesticides & Pest Control.

Our department via its three branches, seeks to provide an ideal agricultural environment by increasing production, enhancing quality, and ensuring safety. This contributes to achieving food security in alignment with the aspirations of our wise leadership under Saudi Vision 2030.

A distinguished group of faculty members, experts in these fields and with degrees from prestigious international universities, works within the department. The department invites visiting specialists to facilitate knowledge exchange and draws graduate students from both domestic and international backgrounds.

The department also offers community services via training courses and programs for the public and private sectors. It helps people to recognize and diagnose plant pests and diseases while recommending the most effective control strategies.
