The Animal Production Graduate Programs
The department of animal production offers two master’s programs (a master of science in poultry science and a master of science in farm animal) and a Ph.D program in animal and poultry production. The department awards all admitted international and local students full scholarships covering tuition and fees.

Mater of Science Admission Requirements
Based on the Unified Law Organizing Graduate Studies at Saudi Universities, applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with a mean grade not less than VERY GOOD (B). Also, applicants must provide Post-Graduate General Aptitude Test score of 70 or GRE test score of 144 or more (quantitative portion). The department has no special conditions for admission. Letters of recommendation from two professors are required.
Mater of Science Degree Requirements
1) Students must successfully complete at least 24 hours of the master’s courses with a mean grade not less than VERY GOOD (B).
2) The M.Sc. Research Project must be completed and approved by the Discussion Committee assigned by the Department Board with a condition that the subject of the research project retroactively has been approved by the Board of the Department of Animal Production.
Doctor of Philosophy Admission Requirements
The Unified Law Organizing Graduate Studies at Saudi Universities requires all applicants to submit the following requirements:
1) Applicants must hold a master’s degree from an accredited university in animal production, animal science, poultry production, poultry science or in any related major.
2) Post-Graduate General Aptitude Test score of 70 or GRE test score of 144 or more in the quantitative portion.
3) English language proficiency test (A minimum of 45 in internet-based TOEFL or 450 in paper-based TOEFL or IELTS score of 5 or 67 score in STEP)
4) Letters of recommendation from two professors are required.
5) Applicants who published at least one article in a peer-reviewed journal may be preferred in case of competitive situations.
Doctor of Philosophy Degree Requirements
1) Students must successfully complete at least 19 credit hours with a mean grade not less than VERY GOOD (B).
2) Students must pass a comprehensive examination.
3) The Ph.D. research project must demonstrate novelty and importance to the field.
How to apply
All graduate programs are offered on annual basis. The application period starts in February and lasts for about 3 weeks. Applicants can apply and submit the necessary documents via the electronic portal. The required documents include official transcripts, diploma and curriculum vitae. Applicants can learn about the status of application during the second semester through the same electronic portal.
